  • Laura Sargent Hall

    FOUNDER/DIRECTOR

Laura began teaching dance at age 12, and has been doing it ever since. She first taught at Paulette's Ballet Studio in Newton, MA, going on to develop the modern dance program there. She has a B.F.A. in dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and an M.A. in Dance/Movement Therapy from Antioch University. She started Kaleidoscope Dance (then known as Sargent School of Ballet) in 1995 in West Tisbury with 12 students. Her goal was to create a safe, encouraging environment to foster the love of dance in island children.

  • Lucia Dillon

    YOUNG CHILDREN'S TEACHER

Lucia Dillon began her dance training with Laura Hall at the Sargent School of Ballet when she was 6 years old. Her great love of dance extended into a love for teaching dance. Soon, she was assisting the youngest dancers in class and performance. Lucia danced throughout high school and went on to direct the Built on Stilts summer program Stiltshop as well as the young children’s program at Kaleidoscope Dance. Lucia’s background in early childhood education and development along with her passion for dance informs her teaching.

  • Hannah Burbidge

    TAP TEACHER

With over two decades of experience in the performing arts, Hannah is a dedicated dance teacher specializing in tap here at Kaleidoscope. Hannah began dancing in multiple disciplines including modern, jazz, tap, and hip hop as a child and has taught all ages and abilities since she was 16. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes not only mastering the steps but also fostering a deep appreciation for the art form. Hannah hopes all students benefit from her expertise, her nurturing approach, and her ability to inspire confidence and rhythm in every dancer.

  • Grace Hall

Grace began dancing with her mother at age 3. As her passion for ballet grew, she started to commute to Cape Cod at Atlantic Coast Academy of Dance in 2009. There, she furthered her intensive ballet study for six years before earning her high school diploma as a dance major at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She has studied at the schools of many prestigious ballet companies such as Houston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, and Carolina Ballet. Grace went on to attend Vassar College, graduating with a minor in dance and participating in the on-campus dance company Vassar Repertory Dance Theater. She was the teaching assistant for Vassar’s Beginning Ballet course, and has a sincere passion for sharing her wealth of technical knowledge with Kaleidoscope students.

*Grace is on leave this year and will not be teaching at Kaleidoscope
